Marketing data sheet: “Solinst’s Leveloader II”
Leveloader II is a more sophisticated and advanced version of Solinst’s first Leveloader. Leveloader II stores and transfers more data, more rapidly, from all past and present Levelogger models and gives you more functions such as allowing the complete reprogramming of Levelogger sampling options, altitude, instrument number and location, with password protection when needed. It gives more critical information too, such as battery levels and Levelogger and Leveloader remaining memory information, in real time and allows viewing of the stored data in chart form. You can also synchronize the Levelogger time to the Leveloader, perform a “Start” or “Future Start,” and erase last log files. These new features give you more flexibility and precision in the transfer of your data.
Transferring Data
Leveloader II works with all versions of the Levelogger and Rain Logger, both past and present. It completely replaces the need for a PC in the field, and can perform almost all the functions you can do with a desktop computer. You can use it to view existing logger settings, program new settings, launch logging sessions, download and view data and store multiple data files into one single handheld unit. There is password protection built in to the Leveloader II to prevent unauthorized changes to the Levelogger settings.
Leveloader II can store twice as much data as the Leveloader I, and transfer data to a PC twice as fast as the Leveloader I. It has 2mb of flash memory for saving Levelogger data.
Leveloader II is equipped for a USB connector to attach to the computer and cables are available to connect it directly with the Levelogger, or with the Direct Read Cable while the Levelogger remains in the water.
Advantages of the Leveloader II
- Completely replaces the need for a PC in the field.
- Downloads twice the amount of data, and twice as fast, as Leveloader I.
- Displays tabular data in the field. All logged data can be scrolled through in chart form prior to download.
- Allows stopping, restarting, reprogramming with Start (now) and Future Start.
- Allows running a test.
- High-speed data transfer to PC.
- Has a real-time clock. Battery status and memory status all shown in real time.
- Allows synchronizing Levelogger time to Leveloader II. Automatically turns off after 10 minutes of idle time.
- Easy-change standard 9V battery.
- Water resistant to splashes, rain and general ambient humidity. Has a splash-proof case.
- Works with all past and present versions of Levelogger and Rain Logger.
- Has 2 Megabytes of Flash memory for saving Levelogger data.
- Retrieves and displays the most recent readings, including the last reading without downloading.
- Retrieves and displays battery and memory information from the Levelogger.
- Allows reprogramming of the Levelogger’s instrument number, location, sampling rate, sampling type, range and altitude. Units of range cannot be changed.
- All files can be erased, including last log file.
- Designed for use with the intuitive Levelogger software (2.0 and upwards).
- More tolerant of communication interruptions, so gives fewer communication error messages.

Leveloader I
The original Leveloader remains available from Solinst, but is now called Leveloader I. A simple data transfer device, it is a lower cost option for basic operations. It performs four important functions: gives the last reading, downloads data from the Levelogger, uploads data to a PC, and can restart a Levelogger.
An LCD display and three control buttons allow viewing of the latest readings as well as guiding you simply through the process of downloading data from the Leveloggers and uploading it to a PC.
Leveloader I also offers the option of restarting the attached Levelogger using the same settings as before. Restart erases all previously collected data, so the free memory number shown on screen lets you decide whether to restart the Levelogger for the next monitoring period. Retaining the Levelogger data can be a useful backup as long as sufficient free memory is available. The Levelogger does stop logging once its memory is full. The memory can be cleared using the download software after each successful upload to a PC.
